Control Resonant Launches September 24 at $59.99 on PS5, Xbox and PC
We have been waiting a long time to see what Remedy does after 2019's Control, and the answer starts unlocking this morning. Control Resonant launches digitally worldwide on Thursday, September 24 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the Standard Edition at $59.99 and a Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. On PS5, and only on PS5, that Deluxe Edition comes with 48 hours of early access, so anyone who pre-ordered it can start playing today, September 22.
Remedy has published a single global launch time rather than a midnight-by-region rollout. The game unlocks at 7 AM Pacific on September 24, which is 10 AM Eastern and 3 PM in the UK. The PlayStation Store lists the early access window as starting September 22 with the same structure. If you want a disc, you wait a little longer: Remedy's press note dates the physical PS5 and Xbox editions for October 15, three weeks after the digital release.

Editions, bonuses and what the PC needs
The Standard Edition is the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, an Untapped Artifact called the Wallet, a starter resource bundle and the AWE Mission Outfit, plus that PS5-only head start. Pre-ordering either edition gets you the Hiss Corruption Outfit and the Pickpocket's Tool Artifact, and PlayStation pre-orders add a third cosmetic, the Occult Outfit. On the physical side, Remedy lists a Standard disc at $59.99 and a SteelBook edition at $69.99 that bundles a steel case, art prints and a poster. Steam also sells a Siblings Collection that pairs the Deluxe Edition with Control Ultimate Edition at a small discount, which is the sensible route if you skipped the first game.
On PC, the Steam page asks for Windows 10 or 11, 16 GB of RAM and 120 GB on an SSD. The minimum is a Core i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500 with a GTX 1070, RX 5600 XT or Arc A580. The recommended tier is a Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X with an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT or Arc B580. GeForce NOW support is in at launch, and Remedy says a native Mac version on Steam and the App Store follows later in 2026 without giving a date.
Dylan Faden, a hammer, and a Manhattan that will not stay still
This is not Jesse's game. You play Dylan Faden, her brother, and the action moves out of the Oldest House and onto the streets of Manhattan, where the Hiss, the Mold and a new kind of resonance are pulling the city apart. Jesse is missing, and Remedy frames Dylan as a former test subject turning into what it calls a paranatural superweapon. In a post on the game's Steam page, lead gameplay designer Sergey put it plainly: the studio swapped Jesse's gunplay for a shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant, and rebuilt the combat loop around reading enemy animations, managing staggers and status effects, and dodging on time. The Aberrant morphs between a two-handed hammer and a pair of blades mid-fight, and elemental abilities and the environment do the rest.
Remedy calls this its most expansive game to date, with large distinct zones full of side activities and optional discoveries rather than one building. The gravity anomalies from the trailers are real spaces where orientation flips, and the studio has also talked up an expanded Assist Mode for players who want the story without the timing drills. The launch trailer above runs on The Cardigans' My Favourite Game, which tells you a lot about the tone Remedy is going for.
Our take
A $59.99 standard price and a $10 Deluxe step with a real soundtrack and artbook is a fair structure, and the PS5-only early access is the one wrinkle we would flag for PC and Xbox buyers who might assume the Deluxe head start applies to them too. Reviews are not out yet, so if you are on the fence, nothing changes by waiting until Thursday. It is a crowded launch day either way, because Silent Hill: Townfall lands on September 24 as well with its own 48-hour Deluxe early start today. Two big-budget horror-adjacent games sharing a Thursday is a nice problem to have.
