Race Horses is a hatch, feed and race loop. Feed is the bottleneck early on, since a horse that isn't levelled loses races, so fifteen free Carrots and a couple of Golden Apples are a real head start rather than a token gift.
Quick tip.redeem CARROT before you hatch anything and dump the feed into your first decent horse instead of spreading it around. One levelled horse wins races and pays for the next egg; three half-fed ones just lose. Save the Golden Apples for the first horse that hatches with a fast trait.
