ID@Xbox Showcase Dates: Mouthwashing Oct 29, Digging Game Dec 4

An indie showcase is easy to forget by the next morning, because most of what it shows is a trailer and a vague season. The ID@Xbox showcase on October 20 was more useful than that: Xbox Wire's recap puts 21 games on a page, and most of them came with either a date or a window. The catch is that very few land before the year ends, so we sorted the list by when you can actually play something.

What you can play before the year ends

One game was a genuine surprise launch. Arctic Eggs is available now on Xbox Series X|S, as a purchase rather than a Game Pass title, which makes it the only thing on the list you can download tonight.

After that the calendar is short and fairly clear. Scramble Knights Online arrives October 26 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, and it is on Game Pass. Mouthwashing follows on October 29 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox One and Game Pass. The same day, The Wolf Among Us Remastered launches digitally on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, which lines up with the launch details we covered yesterday, including the Switch delay. Zero Parades: Director's Cut lands November 3 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. Shrek 2 Remastered is out November 10 and is already open for pre-order on Xbox Series X|S, with up to 20% off for Game Pass members and 10% for everyone else through November 9. Closing the year, A Game About Digging A Hole Together comes December 4 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Game Pass. Paper Shredder is listed for "this winter" with no year or date, so we would not count it yet.

That is seven or eight games across roughly six weeks, and at least three of them (Scramble Knights Online, Mouthwashing and the digging game) cost a Game Pass subscriber nothing extra. If you already pay for the service, the practical move is to wishlist those and ignore the rest of the noise.

The 2027 queue, and what is missing

Everything else on the page is a wait. Croak is dated March 2027 and is day one on Game Pass with Play Anywhere support. Early 2027 holds Magenta Down, Mr. Magpie's Harmless Card Game, VANRAN and Waveling Island, with Mr. Records in spring. Chronoscript: The Endless End and Drill Keeper are both summer 2027, Rustown has the only exact 2027 date, June 30, and Graytail is pencilled in for November 2027. Love is a Roguelite is listed for fall 2027, No, I'm Not a Human just says 2027, and Red Kiss says only "coming soon" while promising day one on Game Pass.

What the recap does not give us is just as important. There is no price on a single game, and for many of them no word on whether Game Pass is involved. Release windows this vague also slip often, particularly "early 2027" entries, which is why we would treat anything past the first quarter as a hope rather than a plan. We checked the Xbox Wire page itself for every date above and left out anything it did not state.

Our take

The strongest signal here is how much of this list is Game Pass-first. For a subscriber, a sizeable share of the indie slate is effectively free, and the Play Anywhere label on several titles means a purchase on console should carry over to PC. For someone who does not subscribe, the value is thinner: no prices means no way to judge, and most of the interesting dates are a year away. Our advice is to bookmark Mouthwashing and the December digging game, check prices when stores update, and treat the 2027 half of the list as a reminder, not a schedule.

Which showcase games are on Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Wire lists Game Pass for Mouthwashing, Scramble Knights Online, A Game About Digging A Hole Together, Croak, Mr. Magpie's Harmless Card Game, No, I'm Not a Human, Drill Keeper and Red Kiss. Arctic Eggs is a paid purchase and is not on Game Pass.

The Xbox Wire recap does not state a price for any of them. Check each store page once it goes live, and note that Shrek 2 Remastered pre-orders carry a Game Pass member discount of up to 20% through November 9.

The Xbox recap only lists Xbox and Xbox on PC platforms. Mouthwashing and The Wolf Among Us Remastered mention Xbox One as well. Anything about other consoles has to come from each studio, so we do not assume it.
