99 Nights in the Forest Class Tier List (September 2026)

Last checked September 11, 2026

This 99 Nights in the Forest class tier list ranks the diamond shop classes we think are worth buying after the August 2026 Kids Have Jobs update, from the run-winning combat picks down to the cheap flavor choices.

We compared the three most recent community rankings and kept the majority view, so a class only lands in S when more than one source agrees it carries late nights.

Short version: save for Cyborg, Vampire or Necromancer if you want to survive past night fifty, and grab Fire Bandit first if you only have 200 diamonds.

How we rank

Classes are judged on raw combat power, how well they scale into the late nights, whether they still work solo, and what you get for the diamond price. Seasonal event classes such as Witch, Gifting Elf and Bunny are left out because they are only sold during their events. When our sources disagree, we follow the most recent majority view.

Tier by tier

S Tier, the meta

  • Cyborg: 600 diamonds, alien armor plus laser cannon, kills refund energy
  • Vampire: 600 diamonds, lifesteal scythe and night speed forgive mistakes
  • Necromancer: 600 diamonds, raises up to six cultists, overwhelming late game
  • Fire Bandit: 200 diamonds, infernal crossbow with burn, cooks meat for free
  • Pyromaniac: 600 diamonds, flamethrower clears groups fast, watch the fuel

A Tier, excellent

  • Alien Scientist: 600 diamonds, dual weapons, extra sack space and energy regen
  • Assassin: 500 diamonds, katana crits and knives, lower max health
  • Poison Master: 200 diamonds, poison spreads on kills, strong damage over time
  • Beastmaster: 400 diamonds, up to five wolf pets, solo friendly once upgraded
  • Gunslinger: 600 diamonds, revolver upgrades through the target list, ammo hungry
  • Alien: 100 diamonds, infinite ammo raygun and night vision, best budget pick
  • Blacksmith: 200 diamonds, crafts one tier higher, the base builder's class
  • Big Game Hunter: 600 diamonds, rifle start and permanent buffs from eating pelts

B Tier, solid

  • Nightcrawler: 200 diamonds, shadow dagger shines at night, weak by day
  • Chef: 150 diamonds, unique healing recipes, better in a squad
  • Brawler: 100 diamonds, plus forty percent health and melee, no ranged weapons
  • Lumberjack: 70 diamonds, bonus logs and saplings keep walls and traps flowing
  • Berserker: 100 diamonds, one free revive and damage that rises as health drops
  • Grenadier: 100 diamonds, impact grenades hit hard but run out quickly
  • Feaster: 150 diamonds, max health climbs with food variety, slow to pay off
  • Ranger: 70 diamonds, flashlight and revolver, safe pick for new players

C Tier, situational

  • Support: 45 diamonds, shares damage and food with a bonded teammate only
  • Medic: 40 diamonds, five times faster revives, useless when playing solo
  • Fisherman: 50 diamonds, endless food if you fish a lot, no combat value
  • Zookeeper: 70 diamonds, tames three animals at once, outclassed by Beastmaster
  • Cook: 40 diamonds, seasoned food heals more, nothing else
  • Scavenger: 25 diamonds, two extra sack slots and faster chests

D Tier, skip

  • Gambler: 55 diamonds, chest upgrade or downgrade on a coin flip
  • Brute: 50 diamonds, taunt shield with weak scaling
  • Farmer: 80 diamonds, better crops are not worth a class slot
  • Hunter: 40 diamonds, more meat and pelts, outclassed by any combat class
  • Camper: 10 diamonds, ten percent less hunger, fine for your very first run

99 Nights in the Forest tier list FAQ

What is the best class in 99 Nights in the Forest?

Cyborg is the safest 600 diamond purchase in September 2026. It starts with alien armor and a laser cannon, and its level three perk refunds energy on kills, so it keeps firing through the late nights. Vampire and Necromancer are just as strong once you learn to play around lifesteal or summons.

Which class should I buy first with few diamonds?

Fire Bandit at 200 diamonds is the best value in the shop. The infernal crossbow burns enemies and cooks dropped meat automatically, which solves hunger and gives you a real weapon for the price of a mid-tier class. Alien at 100 diamonds is the runner-up thanks to its infinite ammo raygun.

Are the cheap classes like Camper and Medic worth it?

Only for your first few runs. Camper reduces hunger drain by ten percent and Medic revives teammates five times faster, but neither helps you kill cultists or survive the deer. Save your diamonds for a combat class instead of spreading them over several cheap ones.

Why are Witch, Gifting Elf and Bunny missing from this tier list?

They are event classes sold for candy, candy canes or eggs during Halloween, Christmas and Easter, so most players cannot buy them today. Both Witch and Gifting Elf were rated S tier while their events ran, so pick them up when their seasons return.
