This Anime Adventures tier list covers the units we would actually chase in the current meta, from the sacrifice scaling of Griffin to the starter units you can safely skip.
We pulled rankings from recent community sources covering Update 19.5 and merged them into one view, so you do not have to cross check five different pages.
Ratings lean toward endgame value, so a unit that carries story mode but falls off in infinite mode lands lower here.

We rank units on damage output, area coverage, range, cost efficiency, and how well they hold up in the current update, with extra weight on late game and infinite mode performance.
Tier by tier
S Tier, the meta
- Griffin (Darkness): Sacrifice mechanic gives near infinite DPS scaling in long runs
- Vegeto: Fusion unit with a huge DPS ceiling and cone AoE
- Berserker: Bleed stacks on every hit melt whole waves
- Legendary Assassin (Prime): Doubles damage on the closest enemy, excellent boss killer
A Tier, excellent
- Supreme Being (Sovereign): Best summoner, minions add serious independent damage
- Elf Mage (Aura): Top hill unit with reliable aura coverage
- Shinobi (Awakened): Strong sustained damage with a potent burn effect
- Fuji: Best anti air pick, limited to four per team
- Itochi (Crimson): Highest black flame damage among mythics
- Gas: Scales hard after a minute of sustained combat
B Tier, solid
- Harribu: Cost efficient damage, great for free to play teams
- Golden Tyrant (Emperor): Buffer that mainly exists to amplify Griffin
- Illusionist (Final): Support that stacks buffs alongside Golden Tyrant
- Stringy (Awakened): Griffin buffer with useful crowd control
- Gilgamesh: Consistent DPS with decent area coverage
- Dazai: Support pick that strips enemy attributes
- Calm Killer: Fast attacking hill unit, solid through mid game
- Byu: High single target damage with respectable AoE
C Tier, situational
- Kurama (Nine-Tails): Once great AoE, now outclassed by power creep
- Titan Slayer: Anti boss niche now covered by Legendary Assassin
- Pirate King (Evolved): Jack of all trades that excels at nothing
- Spirit Swordsman: Line pierce damage but low per target numbers
- Roger: Raid specialist with little use elsewhere
- Skull Knight: Only worth fielding in specific raids
- Gravity Navy: Huge range but the evolved form does it better
- Mochi: Upgrades cost too much for what you get
D Tier, skip
- Toad Sensei: Weak stats even at max upgrade
- Jose: Starter unit, replace as soon as possible
- Delinquent: Early game filler with no late game value
- Iron Knight: Cheap opener that falls off almost immediately

What is the best unit in Anime Adventures right now?
Griffin (Darkness) leads the meta. Its sacrifice mechanic lets its damage keep scaling for as long as the match runs, and with buffers like Golden Tyrant and Illusionist it out damages everything else in infinite mode.
How do you get fusion units like Vegeto?
Fusion units are created by combining two specific fully evolved units at the fusion altar. You lose both parent units in the process, so make sure your copies are well leveled before you commit.
How often does the Anime Adventures meta change?
Every major update tends to shake things up. New banner units usually arrive strong, and older mythics slide down as power creep sets in, so we revisit this list after each big patch.
Are secret units always better than mythics?
Not always. Secrets have higher ceilings on average, but several mythics such as Berserker hold S tier on merit, and a well built mythic team clears most content without any secret at all.
