Blade Ball Ability Tier List (July 2026)

Last checked July 13, 2026

This Blade Ball ability tier list ranks the abilities that actually decide rounds right now, from the meta picks down to the ones we would quietly skip.

We cross checked the most recent community rankings against our own lobby time, so a few placements will look different from older lists you may have seen.

If your favorite sits low, it can still work in the right hands; the tiers reflect average value per round, not skill ceilings.

How we rank

We rank abilities on how often they win rounds in current public lobbies: saves under pressure, kill potential, and how much value they give for their cost and cooldown. Flashy movement counts for little if the ball still catches you.

Tier by tier

S Tier, the meta

  • Infinity: Stops the ball cold and buys time to counter
  • Singularity: Pulls the ball in, then fires it back extremely fast
  • Slashes of Fury: Halts the ball and returns it at any speed
  • Quantum Arena: Mass ability disable that swings whole team fights
  • Dribble: Dribbling speeds the ball up and confuses defenders

A Tier, excellent

  • Necromancer: Zombie army adds constant pressure in crowded lobbies
  • Dragon Spirit: Summoned dragon retargets the ball and covers mistakes
  • Time Hole: Buffs you, slows enemies, strong in team modes
  • Fracture: Splits the ball to threaten two players at once
  • Death Slash: Fast aggressive return, still a reliable finisher
  • Guardian Angel: Free automatic block when you miss a parry
  • Tact: Passive curve on every parry, effortless value

B Tier, solid

  • Rapture: Strong curved upward slash, outshone by newer picks
  • Slash of Duality: Light and dark slashes with tricky ball effects
  • Bunny Leap: Leap and slam traps opponents, fun but readable
  • Doppelganger: Clone plus invisibility gives decent mind games
  • Forcefield: Auto deflects for a while, easy safety crutch
  • Pull: Forces the ball onto you for setup plays
  • Flash Counter: Returns the ball while briefly freezing the sender

C Tier, situational

  • Telekinesis: Retargets the ball but slow after repeated nerfs
  • Absolute Confidence: Server wide taunt, risky without perfect timing
  • Freeze: Briefly stops the ball, cooldown feels too long
  • Blink: Three quick teleports, mobility without real impact
  • Reaper: Speed stacks on kills, weak until you snowball
  • Pulse: Ability disable that rarely changes a round

D Tier, skip

  • Phase Bypass: Flashy god speed dash that wins nothing
  • Invisibility: The ball still finds you, mostly cosmetic
  • Thunder Dash: Teleport that blocks parrying mid dash
  • Waypoint: Marker teleport with very narrow uses
  • Platform: Sky platforms rarely matter in real rounds

Blade Ball tier list FAQ

What is the best ability in Blade Ball right now?

Infinity is the safest all around pick because it stops the ball and hands you a counterattack. If you prefer offense, Singularity and Slashes of Fury turn every parry into a kill threat.

Is Telekinesis still worth using?

Not really. It was a top pick in earlier metas, but repeated balance changes left it slow and predictable, which is why most current rankings place it in the middle of the pack. Keep it if you love it, but do not buy it first.

Which ability should new players buy first?

Start with a forgiving defensive option like Guardian Angel or Forcefield, since both cover missed parries while you learn timing. Once your deflects are consistent, save up for an S tier ability such as Infinity or Singularity.

How often does the Blade Ball meta change?

Often. The developers ship new abilities and balance passes every few weeks, and one buff or nerf can move an ability a full tier. We revisit this list after major updates, so check the date at the top before you spend.
