Mafia: The Omertà Collection Shadow Drops Today With All Four Games and a Brand New Old Country Expansion

Some publishers tease a collection for months. 2K went the other way this week: it announced Mafia: The Omertà Collection on Wednesday and released the whole thing today, August 14, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. One day from reveal to launch is about as close to a true shadow drop as big publishers get.

The pitch is simple. This is every Mafia game in one bundle, from the 1930s Lost Heaven remake to last year's Sicilian prequel, and it arrives alongside Man of Honor, the first story expansion for Mafia: The Old Country. There is an introductory price at launch, though it does not stick around long: the discount runs through August 28 on Steam and PS5, and through August 25 on Xbox.

What you actually get

The collection bundles four games: Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition. The Definitive Editions of the older games already fold in their released expansions, so this is the full saga rather than a stripped set of base games.

The headline technical change sits with the first game. Mafia: Definitive Edition, the 2020 remake of the original, now has a proper current gen version running at 60 fps with technical improvements on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until now it had been stuck as a last gen title running on newer hardware. Better still, you do not need the collection to benefit: PS4 owners of the remake get the PS5 digital version free, and Xbox One digital owners get the Series X|S version free.

Man of Honor takes The Old Country back to 1905

The other reason this bundle matters today is Man of Honor, a paid expansion for Mafia: The Old Country that launches alongside the collection. It rewinds the clock to Sicily in 1905 and adds two new story chapters, plus exclusive weapons, outfits and items for the game's Free Ride mode. It requires the base game, and Old Country owners can buy it separately without touching the bundle.

Our take: this is a genuinely good week to be curious about Mafia. The series has always been more about slow burn storytelling than open world checklists, and getting all four campaigns in one purchase at a launch discount is the easiest entry point the franchise has ever had. It also caps a busy stretch for the publisher, which has NBA 2K27 arriving September 4 while parent company Take-Two keeps GTA 6 locked on November 19. If you have been waiting to see what Hangar 13's Sicily looks like, the door just opened wide.
