Marvel Rivals Adds the God Quarry Domination Map Today

Marvel Rivals dropped its mid-season patch this morning, and for once the headline is a place rather than a person. The God Quarry is a new Domination map, it went live at 09:00 UTC on September 24 with no server downtime, and it comes wrapped in the Season 10 story about Gorr the God Butcher. If you have been grinding the same handful of Domination maps since the season started on September 11, this is the change you were waiting for.

The map sits inside Omnipotence City, the parliament of pantheons that Gorr twisted into what the patch notes call a roving citadel of despair before crashing it into the Cradle of Creation. The official reveal below shows the tone: green-lit halls, chained gods, and a Godbomb that is close to finished.

A five day window to learn the map

NetEase is doing what it usually does with a new map: a limited-time Quick Match playlist that only serves the God Quarry. That playlist runs from September 24 at 09:00 UTC to September 29 at 08:59 UTC, so you get five days of guaranteed reps before the map dissolves into the normal rotation. We would use that window. Domination maps reward knowing exactly where the flanks and high ground are around each point, and there is no faster way to learn that than back to back rounds on the same layout.

Context matters here because Season 10, called Butcher's Blasphemy, has been a heavy one. It opened on September 11 with a full Scarlet Witch rework, a seasonal story event called The Tetrameron that has players helping Loki, and a battle pass named The Godbomb. The God Quarry is the first new arena for all of that, and the lore ties directly into the season's villain. Galacta's Gift Vol.3 and a busy cosmetics calendar

The other half of the patch is Galacta's Gift Vol.3, which runs from September 24 to November 13, both at 09:00 UTC. The patch notes make a point of saying the Costume Coin is finally back, and the Exchange Store gets what they describe as a large batch of costumes for a limited time. If you have been holding on to an unspent coin, or you missed a skin you wanted, this seven week window is where to look.

The shop rotation is also worth a glance. The Mantis Morning Dew Bundle and the Daredevil Dare-Dragon Bundle are available now. From September 25 at 02:00 UTC to October 23 at 02:00 UTC, the Thor King Thor Bundle, a Morning Dew emoji bundle, Mantis Morning Dew chroma variants with an ultimate ability effect, and the Jeff the Land Shark Breakfin' skin are on a limited-time run. On the way out, the first wave of swimsuit costumes for Emma Frost, Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Black Widow, Captain America, Lady Loki and White Fox leaves the store after October 16 at 02:00 UTC, and the second wave for Magik, Scarlet Witch and Storm follows on November 20. Krakoan Reels Vol.2 wraps on October 15 at 09:00 UTC. The only listed bug fix is small: Devil Dinosaur's Lord icon was sitting in the wrong spot in the KO feed.

Our take

A single map is not a season, and the patch has no balance changes to talk about, so anyone hoping for a meta shake-up will have to wait. But the God Quarry is the right kind of mid-season drop: a new place to fight that is tied into the story the season is telling, plus a dedicated playlist so you can actually learn it. Pair that with a seven week Costume Coin event and there is a good reason to log in this week even if you had drifted off after the Season 10 launch rush.
