Minecraft Live Airs Today With the Next Game Drop Reveal

Mojang is back on air today. The fall edition of Minecraft Live streams on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1 p.m. ET, which works out to 10 a.m. PT, 6 p.m. BST and 7 p.m. CEST. You can watch on the official Minecraft YouTube channel, on Twitch, or at minecraft.net/live, and Mojang says the show runs somewhere between thirty minutes and an hour depending on how much there is to announce.

The pitch on the official page is short and pointed: "What is the new Minecraft update? Tune in to Minecraft Live to find out." That makes this the first proper look at whatever comes after Wilderness Bound, the game drop the same page lists as out now. What Mojang has already told us about the next drop

Mojang has been unusually open about where 2026 is heading. At its bonus Minecraft Live from TwitchCon Europe earlier this year, the game drops team said the third drop of 2026 brings a brand new biome, the dappled forest. It is a colorful forest full of poplar trees that give the landscape what Mojang calls burnished hues, along with mysterious abandoned camps scattered through the woods. The recap on the official site sums up the look as warm gray poplar wood, herringbone patterns and persistently red shrubs. The same recap ends with a promise of more information on the fall drop to come, and today's stream is the obvious place for that.

The key art Mojang put on the Minecraft Live page shows Alex sliding through exactly that kind of orange forest, which is as strong a hint as you will get before the show starts. What we do not know is the name of the update, whether the dappled forest ships with new mobs, or when it lands. The TwitchCon session also talked up Chaos Cubed, the drop built around a sulfur caves biome and a sulfur cube mob that eats blocks and absorbs their properties, so expect a status check on that too. We are not going to guess at dates.

Minecraft Dungeons II is three days out

The other reason this show matters is timing. Minecraft Dungeons II releases on September 29, 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and it is a day one Game Pass title with Xbox Play Anywhere support. We ran through where it sits in Microsoft's lineup when the second September Game Pass wave was announced, and today's stream is the last big stage for it before launch. The most recent reveal was the Twisted Warden, a hulking foe that one developer described as a little on the slow side but packing a whole lot of power, alongside an ominous deep dark portal and a mix of familiar and fresh biomes.

There is also a small bonus worth knowing about. If you play the original Minecraft Dungeons and Dungeons II on the same Microsoft account, you unlock the Hero Cape in Dungeons II and in Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition, and Mojang confirms playing either game through Game Pass counts. Pre-orders are still open for two more days and come with two hero skins, the Twisted cape and the Twisted chicken pet, but that offer expires on September 28. Switch 2 owners waiting on the native Minecraft port due October 27 get Dungeons II a month earlier, which is a nice way to fill the gap.

Our honest expectation: a name and a rough window for the dappled forest drop, a long Dungeons II segment, and one or two surprises Mojang has kept back, because a fall Live rarely goes out without a mob or a feature nobody saw coming.
