This Uma Musume character tier list ranks the trainees we think are worth building on the global server in September 2026, outfit by outfit, since the same girl can be a monster in one version and merely fine in another.
We combined the latest overall rankings with the distance-specific Team Trials and Champions Meeting results, so a character who dominates several distances sits above one who only shines in a single niche.
Short version: build Oguri Cap (Ashen Miracle), either Taiki Shuttle, and Kitasan Black first, and do not lose sleep over the C and D picks, which are mostly base versions that better outfits have replaced.

We rank each trainee version on how many distances and modes it wins in right now: Team Trials across Sprint, Mile, Medium, Long and Dirt, the current Champions Meeting, and how good its unique skill is as inheritance. Support cards still matter more than the character itself, so a lower tier is not a reason to bench a girl you enjoy. When our sources disagree, we side with the most recent majority view.

Who is the best character in Uma Musume right now?
Oguri Cap (Ashen Miracle) is the strongest single version on the global server in September 2026. She is the only SS pick in the current Champions Meeting and also ranks SS on Medium and S on Mile and Dirt in Team Trials. The two Taiki Shuttle outfits and Kitasan Black (Gilded Shrine to Glory) are right behind her.
Why does the same character appear in two different tiers?
Each outfit is a separate playable version with its own stats, aptitudes and unique skill. King Halo is a good example: the Cheerleader in Noble White version is an A tier sprinter, while the original King of Emeralds version has been left behind and sits in D.
Does the character matter more than support cards?
No. Every recent ranking agrees that support cards decide most of a run. A well supported B tier trainee will beat a poorly supported S tier one. Use this list to decide where to spend your limited pulls and training time, not to bench a character you like.
How often does this Uma Musume tier list change?
The global server gets new trainees and outfits roughly every two weeks, and each Champions Meeting changes the distance that matters. We re-check the rankings after every major banner and rewrite the list when the top tiers move.
