This Zenless Zone Zero character tier list covers the version 3.0 meta as of July 2026, and the short version is that Ye Shunguang has rewritten what an attack agent can do.

We ranked thirty agents by endgame performance in Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault, using the two most recently updated major sources and splitting the difference where they disagreed.

A low placement here mostly means power creep, not a broken kit, so your favorite is still fine for story content.

How we rank

We rank by endgame clearing power in Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault under the version 3.0 balance, plus how much a unit enables the current top teams. Both sources were updated in July 2026 and they agree on the extremes; the middle tiers are where they split, and there we leaned on the fresher per-role rankings rather than the kinder verdict. Mindscape investment is not factored in, so a top pick here can still be a bad pull for your account.

Tier by tier

S Tier, the meta

  • Ye Shunguang: Strongest agent in the game, warps the whole meta
  • Miyabi: Anomaly queen, still elite several versions after release
  • Yixuan: Rupture DPS with a huge damage ceiling
  • Astra Yao: Best support in the game, fits every team
  • Yuzuha: Premium support, massive buffs with easy rotations
  • Velina: New anomaly DPS already topping damage charts
  • Dialyn: Top stunner, both sources place her SS
  • Nangong Yu: New premier stun agent, huge daze output
  • Norma: Version 3.0 stunner with top marks everywhere

A Tier, excellent

  • Sunna: Strong new support, sources disagree on how strong
  • Lucia: Ether support with great team utility
  • Ju Fufu: Excellent stunner that also buffs crit damage
  • Trigger: Stun and support hybrid, off field daze machine
  • Zhao: Attack DPS that hits very hard in the right team
  • Evelyn: Fire attacker, still a great crit team anchor
  • Alice: Physical anomaly specialist with strong teams
  • Yanagi: Disorder specialist who ages well in anomaly teams

B Tier, solid

  • Vivian: Anomaly sub DPS that slipped from the top brackets
  • Jane Doe: Once the assault queen, now solidly mid pack
  • Ellen: Launch ice DPS, outclassed but still capable
  • Qingyi: Reliable stunner outpaced by newer options
  • Zhu Yuan: Ether DPS, fine with investment, no longer meta
  • Caesar: Shield support aging gracefully in defense teams

C Tier, situational

  • Soukaku: Budget ice support, cheap and functional
  • Soldier 11: Fire DPS left behind by power creep
  • Piper: Free anomaly unit, decent early then falls off
  • Anby: Starter stunner, fully outclassed by now

D Tier, skip

  • Anton: Niche shock DPS, hard to justify today
  • Corin: Single target physical, weakest attacker bracket
  • Billy: Both sources rank him last, skip

Who is the best character in Zenless Zone Zero right now?

Ye Shunguang. He released in version 2.7 as the strongest attack agent the game has seen and both of our sources still place him at the very top of the version 3.0 meta, with Miyabi and Yixuan right behind him.

Is Miyabi still worth pulling in 2026?

Yes. Miyabi has held a top tier spot since her release and remains the best anomaly DPS in the game. She clears current Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault content comfortably and her teams are cheap to assemble.

What is the best support in ZZZ?

Astra Yao. She slots into nearly every top team and both sources keep her in the highest bracket. Yuzuha, Sunna and Lucia are the strongest alternatives if you missed her banner.

Are the starter agents like Anby and Billy still usable?

For story and casual content, absolutely. For endgame modes they sit at the bottom of the list, and upgrades like Ju Fufu or any of the newer stunners will make a bigger difference than more investment in the starters.
