This All Star Tower Defense X unit tier list covers the units we would actually chase on current banners, ranked from must-pull carries to units you can safely feed away.

We merged the two most recent full rankings we trust, from early June and July 2026, and where they disagree we lean on the newer one. Every unit listed here appears in at least one of those sources.

ASTD X now has well over a hundred units, so we kept this to the names that actually come up when building a real endgame team.

How we rank

We weigh raw damage per second, range and area coverage, support value such as buffs and debuffs, placement and upgrade cost, and consistency across story, infinite and endless modes. Units whose value depends on a specific form, like Beast Cloak or Final Form, are ranked in that form and we say so in the name. We only rank units that appear in our cited sources.

Tier by tier

S Tier, the meta

  • Michishibo: Best single target damage, bleed plus cooldown support
  • Xero: Best support in the game, fits every comp
  • Spiral Pilot: Highest raw damage per second right now
  • Slayer Mage: Elite damage with great range coverage
  • Supreme Leader: Huge damage and consistent wave clear
  • Zaruto (Beast Cloak): Top carry, even stronger as Beast Cloak II
  • Killer (Serious): Carries from early stages to near endgame
  • Ziek (Beast Giant): One of the best hybrids, excellent stats
  • Cursed Talker: Premier debuffer, top tier in both sources
  • Etri: Consistent top performer across all modes

A Tier, excellent

  • Flaming Tiger: Burn damage stacks fast on long waves
  • Blood Queen: Red area damage with lifesteal sustain
  • Magma Marine: Strong area clear both sources rate highly
  • Spider Boss: Great damage over time and utility
  • Blood Commander: Outstanding range with heavy bleed pressure
  • Silent-Swordsman: Reliable damage, solid across every mode
  • Sky God: Strong stats with comfortable range
  • Freezer (Final Form): Amazing after ascension, wide map coverage
  • Tomi: Very strong, cost holds it back slightly

B Tier, solid

  • Tony Stark: Sources split, strong burst but pricey upgrades
  • Jin Sung: Good damage, needs real investment to shine
  • Mysterious X: Useful niche power, not a main carry
  • Venus: Decent support and damage hybrid pick
  • The Strongest One: Big damage, brutal upgrade costs though
  • Dark Wing: Great stats, huge placement cost limits it

C Tier, situational

  • Kujo: Usable early on, quickly outscaled later
  • Whitestache: Falls off once better red units arrive
  • Super God Koku: Nostalgia pick, mid tier damage at best
  • Water Goddess: Support value too small to matter now

D Tier, skip

  • Zaruto: Base form, replace as soon as possible
  • Freezer: Base form only matters until Final Form
  • Masochist Lady: Weak stats for the cost, easy skip

Who is the best unit in All Star Tower Defense X right now?

Michishibo is the standout. It tops single target damage charts and its Transparent World ability adds a bleed effect plus a 20 percent cooldown reduction for a full minute, so it carries bosses and buffs your team at once. For pure damage per second, Spiral Pilot currently posts the highest numbers.

Which support unit should I get first in ASTD X?

Xero. Both of our sources rank it top tier and it slots into essentially every composition, because its support value scales with whatever carries you already own rather than competing with them.

Is All Star Tower Defense X the same game as the original All Star Tower Defense?

No. ASTD X is the 2025 successor with a rebuilt roster of over one hundred units, new ascension and form systems, and its own meta. Tier lists for the original game do not apply to X.

How often should I check this tier list?

After every major update. New banner units in ASTD X tend to enter near the top of the meta, and balance passes regularly move older carries down a tier, so we re-check our sources and refresh this page when the rankings genuinely change.
