Blox Fruits does not put out a numbered update very often, so when one lands it tends to reshape the whole game for months. Update 30 arrived on Saturday, September 5, and it does two big things at once. It adds the Magnet Fruit, the first new fruit in a while, and it rebuilds the First Sea, the part of the game that every new player spends their first dozens of hours in. The official Roblox listing has already been renamed with a magnet emoji and now reads "OUT NOW: Magnet + Sea 1 + MORE".

The numbers behind this game are hard to picture. When we pulled the listing on Monday it showed over 535,000 people playing at once, more than 64 billion lifetime visits and close to 20 million favorites. A rework of the starting zone is not a small patch for a game of this size. If you are jumping back in, our Blox Fruits codes page already has a fresh double EXP code that dropped with the update, alongside the stat reset codes that still work.

The Magnet Fruit rewards you for staying on the attack

Magnet is built around scrap. Scrap litters the battlefield, you pull it in, and it fills a Magnetic Power meter with three stages. Each stage grows your arms, lengthens your basic attack combo and adds defense. The twist is that taking damage drains the meter and can knock you back down a stage, so the fruit punishes passive play and rewards the person who keeps pressing. It is a different rhythm from Buddha or Dough, which is exactly what a fruit roster this old needed.

The kit covers the usual Z, X, C, F and V slots. Scrap Arsenal fires magnetic projectiles or a sustained beam, Magnetic Overcharge traps enemies in a cage, Polarizing Drop is a slam that can also absorb scrap, and Polarity Drive is a grab that forces the target to unequip their sword, which is going to be a sore point in sword-heavy PvP servers. Hold that same key and you get jetpack flight. The V move, Maximum Overdrive, is the mech transformation the teaser showed back in August: a hulking robot form that takes less damage overall but is weaker to Lightning. The trailer above shows the transformation, and it is visibly bigger than Buddha's.

There is also a limited-time Magnet event running alongside the launch. Every hour on the hour, powered-up magnetic enemies spawn, and defeating them drops Magnet Tokens for a dedicated gacha that skips Common fruits entirely and offers accessories and skinned chase variants on top. Dragon is back in the regular rollable pool as well.

The First Sea is a new place with the same quests

The rework touches every one of the 16 islands in the First Sea. Layouts, textures, lighting and NPC dialogue were all redone, the bosses were refreshed, and the Gacha Dealer now lives in Middletown. The quest flow itself was left intact, so a returning player will still recognize where to go. What is new is the Island Secrets system: three hidden puzzles per island, 40 secrets in total, tracked by a new world map with a star rating for each island. Three stars unlock a teleporter to that island, and clearing secrets grants Secret levels that push past the old ceiling of 2,800 toward 3,000. The official listing still says the current cap is 2,800, so treat the extra levels as a secrets-only track for now.

The HUD, the stats menu and the player profile were redesigned too, and you can finally preview a sword or a boat before you pay for it, which removes one of the oldest annoyances in the game. Our honest take: this is the right kind of update. New fruits sell themselves, but rebuilding the part of the game every newcomer sees first, without breaking the progression people already know, is the harder and more valuable work. It also makes the First Sea worth a second visit for veterans who have not set foot there in years.
