Control Resonant Gets New Game++ in October and Photo Mode in November
Control Resonant has been out for three days, and Remedy has already told players what comes next. In a community post published on September 25, the studio confirmed two features that the early feedback asked for most. New Game++ is planned for October, and Photo Mode should follow sometime in November. More cosmetic pieces for Dylan Faden are also on the way in later updates, though Remedy is saving the details for closer to the time.
That note landed on top of a launch day hotfix, version 1.3.3, which went out on September 24 after Remedy looked at reviews and early player data. The short version is that enemies were too tanky and Dylan felt too weak in the opening hours, so both were adjusted. We covered the launch itself and its editions earlier this week, and this is the first real look at how the studio intends to support the game.

New Game++, Photo Mode and more outfits for Dylan
The way New Game+ works right now, you can beat the main story and then play through it exactly once more. Remedy's update changes that into what it calls New Game++, which lets you start one NG+ run after another without erasing your progress. The studio's own phrasing is that you can do 665 runs if you want, which tells you the tone of the post. The timing is given as October, with no specific day yet. If you have already rolled credits, the post also reminds you that side quests, World Feats and the current New Game+ are still there to work through in the meantime.
Photo Mode is the other headline. Remedy says it has been in development for a while and that the team brought in virtual photographers from the community to help shape it. It did not make the launch build because the studio chose to prioritise the state of the game itself, which given the day one hotfix seems like the right call. The target is sometime in November. On cosmetics, Remedy says more clothing pieces for Dylan are coming in future updates but has nothing to show yet. In the meantime, the newsletter exclusive cosmetics are still available, and there is a "test dummy" outfit you can earn right now by watching Control Resonant streams on Twitch with drops enabled. The studio openly suggests muting the stream in a background tab if you are avoiding spoilers, which is refreshingly honest.
What the 1.3.3 launch hotfix actually changed
The hotfix targets three complaints: enemy health pools that felt too high, enemies that took too many hits to Falter for an execution, and Dylan not feeling powerful enough early on. Most enemies now have lower base health and a lower required Falter level, and the same applies to the Dancer and Deserter bosses. On the other side of the ledger, maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength go up, and the increase follows a curve that gets larger towards the end, so the more upgrades you have, the more damage you deal.
Remedy also wants people experimenting with builds. Respeccing is now permanently cheaper, vendors carry more Reset Items, and the first Resonant boss, The Artist, drops two Reset Items instead of one. A couple of English UI strings were rewritten so that Aberrant Strength now reads as "Damage and Falter X%" and the Build Power description lists what actually feeds into it, with other languages to follow. If none of that is enough, Assist Mode in the Gameplay options has sliders for enemy aggression, incoming damage and ability recovery, and it works in both directions if you would rather make the game harder. Remedy points anyone hitting bugs to its Known Issues thread and says further adjustments will follow as feedback comes in.
Our take is that this is a sensible, modest first roadmap rather than a big content promise. There is no mention of a story expansion or a season pass, and Remedy has not said whether one is coming, so do not read either into this post. What you get is a fast difficulty correction, two quality of life features on a rough two month timeline, and outfits. For a single player game that only just shipped, that is the right order of priorities, and the fact that both features came straight from player requests is a good sign for how the studio is listening.
