Nine months after it became one of the most talked-about narrative games of 2025, Dispatch is finally playable on Xbox. AdHoc Studio's superhero workplace comedy launches today, July 29, on Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox app on Windows PC, and it supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers both and your saves and achievements follow you between console and PC.

If you missed it the first time around, Dispatch casts you as Robert Robertson, better known as Mecha Man, a hero whose mech suit gets destroyed by his nemesis. Broke and suitless, he takes a desk job at a superhero dispatch center, where you juggle incoming emergencies by deciding which of your ex-supervillain employees to send where, all while managing office politics and quietly rebuilding the suit for revenge. It comes from a team of Telltale veterans, the writers and directors behind Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, and features a cast that includes Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey and Jeffrey Wright.

The last platform gap is closed

Dispatch first launched on PlayStation 5 and Steam on October 22, 2025, then reached Switch and Switch 2 on January 29 of this year. Xbox was the one place you simply could not play it, which felt increasingly strange as the game kept showing up in every conversation about last year's best writing. Xbox first confirmed the port during its Partner Preview show in March, promising a summer window, cloud support and Play Anywhere, and today it delivers on that promise with a few days of July to spare.

One thing worth knowing before you buy: this is not a Game Pass release. Xbox's own launch lineup for this week tags Halo: Campaign Evolved and Mistfall Hunter as Game Pass titles, but Dispatch appears as a standard purchase with the Play Anywhere badge. Given how often acclaimed indies land straight into the subscription, we would not blame anyone for assuming otherwise, so check before you hit buy expecting it to be included.

Five new languages for everyone, not just Xbox

The Xbox launch also comes with a nice bonus for players everywhere. AdHoc has updated the game across all platforms with five new localization options: Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Thai, Polish and Ukrainian. For a game that lives and dies on its dialogue, proper localization matters a lot more than it would in a shooter, and expanding the audience nine months post-launch is a good sign the studio intends to keep supporting it.

Our take: this port is arriving late, but it is arriving in the best possible shape, with the full season, cross-device saves and a broader language lineup than the game has ever had. If you have been waiting on Xbox while everyone else argued about episode eight, your turn starts today.
