Helldivers 2's Warhammer 40,000 Crossover Lands Tuesday, and It Turns You Into a Cadian Kasrkin

Super Earth and the Imperium of Man are about to share a wardrobe. Castellan's Creed, the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond that Arrowhead revealed at the end of July, goes live this Tuesday, August 12, on PS5, PC and Xbox. It is one of the most requested crossovers in the game's history, and honestly, the two universes fit together so well that the joke writes itself. One side dies for managed democracy, the other dies for the God-Emperor, and both do it in their millions.

The Warbond is built around the Cadian Kasrkin, the elite shock troops of the Astra Militarum, which is a smart pick. Rather than putting you in Space Marine power armor that would tower over every other Helldiver, it casts you as the ordinary human soldier holding the line against monsters, which is basically what Helldivers 2 already is.

What is inside Castellan's Creed

The headline additions are the weapons. The R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle brings the Kasrkin's signature hot-shot lasgun to Super Earth's arsenal, while the P/40-K Bolt Pistol finally puts a bolter, the most iconic gun in Warhammer, into Helldivers 2. The G/40-K Meltamine is a proximity-detonated energy mine, and the 40-K Meltagun arrives as a stratagem, a support weapon that cooks armor with a thermal beam. If you have ever wanted to answer a Bile Titan with melta fire, Tuesday is your day.

On the armor side there are two sets, the TG-122 Demo-Trooper in the heavy slot and the TG-8 Sharpshooter in the medium slot. Both carry a new passive called True Grit, which improves weapon handling and speeds up support weapon reloads, a combination that should pair nicely with the Meltagun. The cosmetic layer rounds things out with the Camo Cloak and City Fighter's Resolve capes, the Castellan's Green vehicle pattern for your FRV, and a player title that sums up the whole Cadian ethos: Still Standing.

Price, and our take

Castellan's Creed costs 1500 Super Credits, the going rate for Legendary Warbonds, and Super Credits can still be found in-game during missions rather than only bought. Once unlocked, the actual items are redeemed with medals you earn by playing, so nothing here is locked behind an extra paywall beyond the Warbond itself.

This is the second big crossover Warbond after the Halo ODST collaboration, and it continues what has quietly become a huge year for Warhammer 40,000 in games, with Total War: Warhammer 40,000 showing off its first real gameplay just a few weeks ago. Our take: crossover cosmetics can feel like filler, but this one adds two genuinely new weapon behaviors and a fresh armor passive, and the theme is a natural fit rather than a marketing stretch. Cadia broke. The Helldivers, presumably, will not.
