Kingdom Hearts Collection Is Out October 8 at $74.99 on PS5 and Switch 2
If you have been waiting for a clean way to play the whole Kingdom Hearts story on current hardware, this is the week. Square Enix is releasing Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] on October 8, 2026, and the listings we checked put the price at $74.99 for everything. It is a native release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, which matters because the Switch versions of these games used to run only through the cloud.
The bundle packs three collections together: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III plus the Re Mind DLC. That covers the main numbered games, the spin-offs that fill the gaps, and the whole saga up to Kingdom Hearts III. Sora is also in the news for a very different reason, since he just arrived in Fortnite, as we covered in our look at the Fortnite crossover. A collection like this is the natural next step for anyone that sent a new player toward the series.
Dates, prices and early access
The Nintendo eShop and Square Enix store pages both give October 8 for the release. The extra wrinkle is early access: digital pre-orders on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S include 48 hours of early play, and the PlayStation Store page lists October 6 and a pre-order cutoff of 11:59 PM on October 7. So if you want to start today, a PlayStation or Xbox digital pre-order is the route. Switch 2 buyers wait for the 8th.
The full bundle costs $74.99. The PlayStation Store also sells each of the three collections on its own for $39.99. The maths is simple: any two of them separately cost $79.98, already above the bundle, so the only reason to buy one alone is if you truly only want a single era of the story. Each platform also comes with its own exclusive Keyblade, Midnight Blue on PS5 and Long Night on Switch 2. These are cosmetic, so we would not pick a platform for them.
The Square Enix store notes that the physical version needs an internet connection and an extra data download, which is worth knowing before you plan a disc purchase for a trip with no signal.
What it means if you already own the Cloud versions
This is the part of the announcement with the most real money attached. Nintendo says anyone who owns all the Kingdom Hearts Cloud titles individually, or the Integrum Masterpiece bundle for Cloud, gets 50% off the Switch 2 native versions and the collection. In practice the discount is aimed at people who already bought the full set, not at someone who grabbed a single Cloud game on sale. If you are in that second group, run the numbers before assuming you qualify.
Switch 2 is the clearest winner here. Cloud play depends on a stable connection and a service the publisher can retire, while a native version just runs. Owners on PlayStation and Xbox mostly gain a single-purchase bundle, since those games have been playable there for years in older forms.
Our take
Before the verdict, one practical point: if you play on Switch 2, check your Nintendo account for existing Cloud purchases before you pay, because the discount is tied to what you own, and it is easy to forget what you bought years ago.
We think this is a good value and a sensible, no-frills release. For $74.99 you get roughly three games' worth of dense action RPG, and a newcomer finally has one obvious place to start. The caveat is that nothing here is new content. If you already finished these on PS4 or Xbox One, this is mainly a convenience and Switch 2 upgrade, not a reason to rebuy.
The timing also makes sense. With Kingdom Hearts 4 now dated for late 2027, a clean collection gives fans a full year to catch up before the next numbered entry. We would buy the bundle over the separate collections, wait for the Switch 2 date if that is your platform, and only chase early access if the story itself is what you want to play this weekend.

FAQ
When does Kingdom Hearts Collection I to III come out?
The official store pages list October 8, 2026 for PS5 and Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S is part of the same launch. Digital pre-orders on PS5 and Xbox get 48 hours of early access, so the PlayStation Store page shows October 6 as the first day you can play.
How much does Kingdom Hearts Collection cost?
The full bundle is $74.99. On the PlayStation Store each of the three collections is also sold separately for $39.99, so buying two of them individually already costs more than the bundle.
Who gets the 50% discount on Switch 2?
Nintendo says players who own all the Kingdom Hearts Cloud titles individually, or the Integrum Masterpiece bundle for Cloud, get 50% off the Switch 2 native versions. That means partial Cloud owners do not qualify, so check your library before you buy.
Is Kingdom Hearts 4 included?
No. The collection stops at Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind DLC, along with the 2.8 prologue. Kingdom Hearts 4 is a separate game that Square Enix has dated for late 2027.
