PS Plus September Games: Sniper Elite Resistance Leads, and MLB The Show 26 Arrives Months After Launch
Sony has confirmed what PlayStation Plus members get next month, and it is one of the more balanced batches we have seen this year. From September 1, all members can add Sniper Elite: Resistance on PS5 and PS4, MLB The Show 26 on PS5, Wobbly Life on PS5 and PS4, and Chained Echoes on PS4 to their library. The window runs until October 5, and as always, the games stay playable for as long as your subscription does.
The surprise is MLB The Show 26. Sony San Diego's baseball sim came out in March at full price, and it landing in the monthly tier less than six months later is a genuinely good deal, especially with the season heading into the playoffs.
What you get in September
Sniper Elite: Resistance is the headliner for most people. Rebellion's WWII stealth shooter casts you as SOE agent Harry Hawker working with the French Resistance in occupied France, and it carries over everything the series does well: long range ballistics, the infamous kill cam, a full co-op campaign, 16 player competitive multiplayer and the Axis Invasion mode that lets another player hunt you through your own campaign.

MLB The Show 26 comes with a members-only extra: a free Jump Start Bundle on the PlayStation Store between September 1 and October 6, containing five The Show packs, an equipment pack and a Jumpstart Choice pack for Diamond Dynasty. Wobbly Life is the family pick, a physics sandbox for up to four players where wobbly little characters take on jobs around an open world island. And Chained Echoes is the one we would tell you not to skip: a 16-bit style JRPG about ending a war between three kingdoms, with turn based battles that mix swords, magic and pilotable mechs. It quietly became one of the best reviewed RPGs of its generation, and on PS4 it runs on anything.
Grab the August games before Monday
The other deadline matters more right now. You have until Monday, August 31 to claim the August lineup: Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Signalis, and Big Walk, the co-op hit that sold a million copies in six days. Claiming takes a few seconds per game and costs nothing, so do it this weekend even if you have no immediate plans to play them.
Our take: this is a strong Essential month by recent standards. A current year sports title, a solid co-op shooter, a kids friendly sandbox and a great RPG cover four very different households, and it compares well against what Game Pass shipped in its August waves. If you only have time for one download, make it Chained Echoes.
