Fighting game seasons usually front-load the hype and then go quiet for months. SNK is trying the opposite with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Season 3, titled Destined for Revenge, kicks off on July 23, 2026 and promises a new fighter plus a content update every single month through December, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Who is coming, and when

The season opens with Rick Strowd, the Native American boxer from Real Bout 2, on day one. Duck King follows in August, bringing his breakdancing rushdown back for the first time in a City of the Wolves game. Kim Kaphwan, arguably the most requested Fatal Fury veteran still missing from the roster, lands in September. November belongs to Laocorn, the armor-clad villain from the 1994 Fatal Fury anime film, a genuinely deep cut. October and December are reserved for two mystery fighters SNK has only teased in silhouette.

That is six characters in six months, and each drop is paired with a content update rather than a lone character file. SNK says the monthly cadence is the point: something new to lab every few weeks instead of one big patch followed by silence.

The pricing actually got friendlier

Season Pass 3 costs 19.99 dollars for all six fighters. The more interesting move is the new Revenge Edition at 49.99 dollars, which bundles the base game with all three season passes, 17 DLC fighters in total. For anyone who skipped the game at launch, that is the whole package for less than the original asking price of the base game alone.

SNK also quietly fixed a long-running annoyance: characters that used to be locked behind season passes can now be bought individually for 4.99 dollars each. If you only ever wanted Kenshiro or one favorite from an earlier season, you no longer have to buy the whole pass to get them.

Our take

City of the Wolves had a strong launch and a wobbly middle, with long content gaps that made it easy to drift away. A guaranteed monthly drop is exactly the medicine, and the character picks show SNK is listening, since Kim and Duck King top most wishlists. The individual character sales are the real consumer win here, and something more fighting games should copy. Our only caution is that monthly schedules are easy to announce and hard to keep, so we will believe the December fighter when we are playing it. If you lapsed on this one, July 23 is a good day to reinstall.
