The wait is over. The Kortz Center Heist goes live in GTA Online today, July 14, exactly on the date everyone had circled since Rockstar's first teaser. When we covered the announcement last week, that Tuesday was still an educated guess. Rockstar has since made it official, and the update is rolling out now across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. As usual with big GTA Online drops, the rollout can take a few hours depending on your platform and region, so do not panic if your console has not offered the download yet.

This is the first brand new heist since Cayo Perico arrived in December 2020, which makes today a genuinely big day for the mode. The job sends you after the priceless exhibits inside the Kortz Center, the art gallery that has sat untouched on the Pacific Bluffs hillside since 2013. You work with the mysterious Mr. Faber and his fixer Raf De Angelis, stake out the museum, pick your approach, and go in. Secondary targets full of fine art are scattered through the building for anyone who wants to squeeze more out of the run.

What you need before you can rob the place

The buy-in is real, so budget for it. You need a Mansion property with the Art Studio expansion, purchased through the Dynasty 8 Executive website in game, and the heist is planned and launched from that studio. Rockstar has also been pushing the Fine Art Collector program as prep, so enroll if you have not already. The good news for lone wolves: the whole heist works solo, or with a crew of up to four.

If you logged in during the run-up, check your account. Rockstar handed out GTA$500,000 plus a free Benefactor Turreted Limo to players who signed in before launch, and completing any heist earned a NOOSE outfit and a GTA$1,000,000 bonus. Mansion owners also picked up a GTA$1,000,000 discount on the Art Studio expansion, which takes real sting out of the entry cost.

What else ships with the update

The download weighs in at roughly 1.9 GB on PS5 and 5.1 GB on Xbox Series X|S. Beyond the heist itself, GTA+ subscribers get a week of early access to a new super car, the Grotti Veleno GT, before it opens up to everyone. Rockstar has not published official payout numbers yet, so treat any figures floating around today as unconfirmed until players finish the job and the community verifies them.

Our take

Launching the biggest GTA Online update in years four months before GTA 6 tells us Rockstar wants the current game to go out with a proper finale rather than fade quietly. The solo option remains the smartest decision in the whole package. Our honest caution stands from last week: between the Mansion and the Art Studio, the setup cost lands somewhere serious, and until real payout numbers surface we cannot say whether the score pays for the ticket. We will be running it this week like everyone else to find out.
