The organizers are clear that Sunday tickets will not be refunded because the event is proceeding. They also warn that heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for Sunday itself, that certain facilities or activities may be changed or canceled on the spot for safety, and they ask visitors to check the latest forecast and train schedules and to leave plenty of time for the journey.

Monday is a different story. Every ticket bought for September 21 will be refunded. The refund procedure is handled by whichever vendor sold you the ticket, so check their instructions, and the organizers say they will post the finalized details on the official site. The Monday program was lighter than the rest of the week, with the Red Bull Revenge stage running most of the day and a short Ending Stage to close the show. The organizers say they are trying to stream some of the Monday stage events as part of the official program, pending confirmation that the venue itself is safe. Whether the streams happen, what they contain and when they air will be announced on the official website and social channels. Official TGS programs normally go out on YouTube, X, Nico Nico, Twitch, TikTok, DouYu and bilibili, so if the streams do run, most of us will be able to watch them.

Why this year mattered more than usual

This is the 30th anniversary Tokyo Game Show, and the five day format was the anniversary gift. The show began in 1996 as a three day event, and it has usually run four days in recent years, two for business and two for the public.
