Fortnite's 41.30 Update Is Live: Springfield Returns, Spider-Man Swings In and Lil Tecca Headlines Festival
Epic likes to save one big messy patch for the end of a season, and this one delivers. Update 41.30 rolled out this morning, July 30, after the usual server downtime, and it is the final major update of Chapter 7 Season 3. The headline acts are an odd but very Fortnite trio: Springfield from The Simpsons, Spider-Man fresh off his new movie, and rapper Lil Tecca taking over the Festival stage.
We would not normally get excited about a season's last patch, but this is closer to three events stacked on top of each other than a farewell tune-up.
Springfield is back and Spider-Man brought a friend
The Simpsons map, which anchored its own mini season back in late 2025, returns as a Reload map. Reload's smaller maps and faster respawn loop suit Springfield well, so pairing the two makes a lot of sense to us, and it gives the map a second life beyond its original event.
The other crossover is timed to the theaters. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day out this week, Fortnite is getting skins straight from the film, including Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal's Punisher. Spider-Man's Web-Shooters are also swinging back into the game, so you can expect final circles full of people airmailing themselves across the map again. On top of the collabs, the update adds new Sprites to find, among them Peely and Llama variants and a rare Quack, plus a new Sprite Mastery page to track your collection.
Lil Tecca opens Festival Season 15
The part Epic actually announced on its own site is Fortnite Festival Season 15, live today with Lil Tecca as the Icon. The pick has a nice bit of history behind it: Tecca has said he started rapping with friends while playing Fortnite, and now he is the one on the in-game stage. Four of his tracks arrive as Jam Tracks this season: Ransom, Dark Thoughts, Love Me and 500lbs.
The Neon Dreams Music Pass carries the season's unlockables, including a music-reactive Tour version of the Lil Tecca outfit, the Mic Mace pickaxe, the Tecca's World back bling and a guitar inspired by his Dopamine tour. The Item Shop side gets its own Lil Tecca outfit with a cartoon Ransom style, a microphone modeled on the We Love You Tecca album cover, the Dopamine Blades pickaxe and a Dark Thoughts emote that flashes in time with the music.
Our take: this is a strong send-off for Chapter 7 Season 3, and a clever one. Rather than one giant collab, Epic spread the patch across three different audiences, Reload players, movie fans and Festival regulars, and each group gets something real. If the season truly wraps after this, it goes out busy rather than quiet, and the next season now has a high bar to clear.
